Le Collier de Sélène 2021, video num, 12 min 28 s

Le Collier de Sélène is a solo created by choreographer Louise Bédard in complicity with dancer Marie Claire Forté. This solo (2014) has been danced too few times, hence the importance of giving it a new life through this video recording.

 

A word from the choreographer

Simple black necklaces bought in a bazaar inspired me to create this solo for the dancer. The necklaces around her neck and the thimbles in the pockets of her suit, encourage us to be on the lookout for sounds in addition to the timbre of her voice from which we get fragments of texts that she almost whispers in our ears. Sometimes they are hers and at other times those of the poets André Breton, Nadine MonFils, Octavio Paz, Yasmina Reza. The score of a story that belongs to her is delivered to us by this great woman whose small and large gestures bewitch and fascinate us.
