Originally from Brighton, England, the artist, who has spent many years in London, is one of the founders of the Hofesh Shechter Company.
Through a natural progression toward teaching, which occurred alongside her work as a dancer, Burnet-Smith emphasizes the importance of improvisation, authenticity, and intentionality in dance as ways to connect to one’s body and that of others – fostering a balance between creativity, a blend of genre and technique.
