In this video, Antoine Turmine revisits his practice: what exists alongside time and beat? How does he understand and share his memory? How does he play with music? Savouring the pleasure of the elastic nature of time in studio, he says he prefers not to confront the gaze of others – even when it enables him to stretch beyond his limits. It is a wonderful moment of dialogue and jig – all in suspension.
A creation of the dance artist Katya Montaignac and dancer, videographer, and editor Philippe Meunier, Je me souviens… is a series of short videos created from images recorded during performances of Nous (ne) sommes (pas) tous des gigueurs et des gigueuses, vivid testimonials from dancers from different jig practices.
