The solo Bras de plomb was created in 1993 out of an encounter between the dancer and choreographer Paul-André Fortier and artist Betty Goodwin. Out of these two artists’ obsession with the human body emerged this fascinating piece, a profound reflection on the human condition.
For the 2011 reconstruction of his choreography Bras de plomb, Paul-André Fortier called on dancer Simon Courchel, who performed the piece with all of the technical maturity, stamina and charisma it demands. This was a significant step in the career of Paul-André Fortier—letting his work go and watching it take on a life of its own.
