On May 6, following the screening of Perreault Dancer at the Cinémathèque québécoise – directed by Tim Southam, written by Andrée Martin and produced by Films de l’Isle, Ian Boyd, (2005) – Lise Gagnon moderated a discussion with Andrée Martin and artists Sylvain Émard, Sylviane Martineau, Mark Shaub, and Daniel Soulières. Andrée shared her very visual approach to writing the script, while the artists spoke with emotion about Jean-Pierre Perreault’s impact on their personal and professional journeys.
It was a big night, a privilege to see the film on the big screen for the first or second time, and a joy to hear the guests discuss Jean-Pierre.
Perreault Dancer was preceded by a short film directed by Christian Konjian and produced by Ian Boyd featuring a conversation between Tim Southam and Marc Boivin. A must-see, available here!
The discussion was recorded by Encore+, and we will soon have the pleasure of hosting it on our website. Until then, if you aren’t familiar with the film, we encourage you to watch it on the Encore+ platform, where it is available for free.
