Vivre Joe

The Vivre Joe workshop was a unique opportunity for participants to discover a major work in the contemporary choreographic repertoire and to perform the work before an audience of family and friends.

Created in 1983 and reprised many times until 2004, Joe evokes collective anonymity and individual singularity. It explores themes close to the choreographer’s heart: dancers’ movements as a source of music and the force exerted by gravity on the body, emblematic of the human condition.

The Vivre Joe workshop was offered in 2013 and 2014 at Agora de la danse by Ginelle Chagnon and Sophie Breton.

Since 2013, the workshops for dancers and non-dancers created by Ginelle Chagnon have helped revive Jean-Pierre Perreault’s choreographic repertoire throughout Quebec.
