Territoires Partagés – audio interview with Gabrielle Desgagnés, Karen Fennell et Jamie Wright (in French)

Place
Montreal
Date
January 2019
Production
Territoires Partagés

An interview conducted by Erin Flynn with Gabrielle Desgagnés, Karen Fennell, and Jamie Wright on their Gyrotonic and Gyrokinesis training practices.

Why have these dance artists turned to these alternative methods? How does this new discipline influence their dancing and teaching practices? What were they looking for and what did they find?

For all of them, Gyrotonic and Gyrokinesis influenced their work as artists and enabled them to find balance and realignment in the body. Strength, flexibility, amplitude, deep breathing, and increased three-dimensional awareness of oneself, others, and the environment are what they learned with Dana Gingras, a pioneer of these techniques in Québec. This interview will pique your curiosity.
