FAIRE CORPS with Marie Chouinard

Date
January 10, 2024
Production
Mandala Sitù Danse and Espace Perreault

Since 1977, Marie Chouinard has created over fifty choreographic works, including some thirty solos that she has performed herself. She founded the Compagnie Marie Chouinard in 1991.

In an interview with Marie-Gabrielle Ménard, the choreographer, author, draughtswoman, set designer, photographer, costume and lighting designer recounts the genesis of her version of The Rite of Spring, and talks about the danger she faced in creating L’Après-midi d’un faune. What still interests her after more than 45 years of creation: exploring unknown paths through body and voice. She prefers the word émoi to émotion.
