In partnership with Espace Perreault Transmissions chorégraphiques and Centre de création O Vertigo, a public workshop was held with former dancer and dance theorist Michèle Febvre in dialogue with dance artist Katya Montaignac. This workshop took shape around the personal and artistic trajectory of Michèle Febvre, and is the first in a series that will honor women artists in the field of the performing arts. Between reflective and practical sharing, it allowed for discussions and experiments with Michèle Febvre and Katya Montaignac in collaboration with curator Véronique Hudon, choreographer Marie Claire Forté and video artist Tracy Valcárcel. Life stories, exercises, readings and collective discussions give shape to this informal workshop that seeks to develop an intergenerational exchange. This workshop is part of the Archives of the Future directed activities, which involves situated research in collaboration with different organizations in the arts community. The Archives of the Future aims to develop alternative and experimental methods of archiving and documentation. The present documents represent traces of the experiments that have taken place, and will participate in the elaboration of a collection of “living archives” presented at a later date.

BAGNE Excerpt – Women version 1998

Created in 1993, BAGNE is the centrepiece of a ten-year-plus collaboration between two Montreal-based choreographers and performers: Jeff Hall and Pierre-Paul Savoie. In 1998, the work was transmitted to two female dancers (Sarah Williams and Carole Courtois) who performed the adaptation brilliantly.
