Interviews between Linda Rabin and artists touched by her work, hosted by Lucie Boissinot

This series of encounters brings together dance artists to explore the pedagogical and artistic legacy of Linda Rabin, a pioneer of dance in Canada. The collective formed by Emmanuelle Bourassa Beaudoin, Mathi LP and Nicolas Patry has gathered around Linda to investigate, honor, deepen and document her pedagogy and the major themes of her artistic and somatic research.

Linda Rabin has over 50 years’ experience in teaching, creation, accompaniment and artistic direction. Co-founder of the École de danse contemporaine de Montréal (EDCM) in 1981, Linda has been developing and refining creative research by and through body movement ever since. She accompanies dance artists in connecting with their deepest instincts, helping them to express themselves through movements intrinsically linked to their inner selves. Linda’s teachings and artistic contributions have influenced many artists in Canada’s dance community to affirm their voice, their uniqueness and their authenticity.

The collective reached to Élise Bergeron, Sarah Bild, Ruth Douthwright, Annie Gagnon, Margie Gillis, Rachel Harris, Kelly Keenan, Anne Lebeau, Nasim Lootij, Hanna Sybille Müller, Line Nault, Nicolas Patry, Aurélie Pédron, Isabelle Poirier, Carol Prieur, Sovann Rochon-Prom Tep and David Rancourt, all greatly inspired by their encounters with Linda. Guided by Lucie Boissinot, these artists speak with the pioneer, exploring in conversation the artistic and human links that bind them, and the echoes of their encounters over time.
