Quand le dessin devient performance by The Two Gullivers

April 1, 2015
Production

On April 1, 2015, the Fondation Jean-Pierre Perreault invited artists and performance art researchers The Two Gullivers to create a work inspired by the Jean-Pierre Perreault archive.

Quand le dessin devient performance is a “performative archive” in which the two artists intersect with professional dancers, non-dancers, as well as various elements pulled from the Jean-Pierre Perreault archive. For this duo, the remounting or reappropriation of artistic performances (reenactment) plays a very important role in the revitalization of performative artistic values, renewing the way we look at the process of creating a work. In their words: “Developing a new performance work by drawing inspiration from sketches and choreographies in the Perreault archive is for us an instinctive approach fully in tune with our creative process.”
