The Fondation Jean-Pierre Perreault presented the creative process behind La Chute, a piece by the collective Vâtchik Danse, made up of choreographer and performer Nasim Lootij and dramaturg Kiasa Nazeran, both of Iranian origin. Drawing inspiration from traditional Iranian dance and a major cultural initiative to bring together Iran’s different ethnicities around a common identity, the artists wanted to create a resolutely contemporary work. The project brings together the creation diary written by Nasim Lootij in addition to videos showing her meetings in the studio.
This project, coordinated by the Fondation Jean-Pierre Perreault, was developed as part of the Conseil des arts de Montréal’s DémART-Mtl program, in cooperation with Tangente, Flak and Louise Bédard Danse.
