On November 28, 2015, FJPP Director Lise Gagnon participated in the study day Patrimoines 3.0 – Le numérique, nouveaux enjeux, nouvelles formes, organized by the Institut du patrimoine de l’UQAM and the Bibliothèque et Archives nationales du Québec. She discussed, among other things, the archive’s evocative potential and the desire to keep the traces and the memory of dance alive. As such a virtual exhibition like Jean-Pierre Perreault, Choreographer – with more than 600 digitized items – fulfills (or feeds) this idealistic quest to have an almost inexhaustible access to archives that are sometimes perceived as relics. She concluded by presenting a major project by the Foundation: the creation of new dance portal, an important future player for our cultural heritage where the memory of dance can live on and expand. In brief, it was a wonderful day of reflection, rich in discoveries and exchanges. The text of this presentation will be available on the FJPP and BAnQ Websites shortly.
