We are delighted to share on EC2 a number of writings and interviews that were part of the Territoires Partagés project.
Territoires Partagés was a website designed to observe and document dance training practices in Quebec. Between November 2018 and May 2020, the site featured sections containing writings, interviews, podcasts and visual documents highlighting the plurality of these practices and giving voice to the artists engaged in them.
The site was a way to explore the ecosystem of our dance practices and to understand related issues and challenges. It was a window onto a period of fertile experimentation. It was also an opportunity to meet the people who train, teach and offer spaces for transmission and exchange.
This partnership was made possible by our close collaboration with Johanna Bienaise, Professor in the Department of Dance at UQAM, to whom we express our deepest thanks.
As an introduction to these shared territories, we recommend the following interviews: with Caroline Laurin-Beaucage about the technical classes committee at the Regroupement québécois de la danse; with Francine Gagné about the classes at Circuit-Est centre chorégraphique; and with Myriam Genestier and Ornella Calisti of Studio 303.
