FJPP TO LEAD WORKSHOP AT QUEBEC-FRANCE CONFERENCE ON CULTURE!

Date
April 3, 2016

On April 28, Lise Gagnon, Executive Director of the Fondation Jean-Pierre Perreault, and Nicole Turcotte, Visiting Professor at the Department of Dance at UQAM, will lead a workshop titled The Fondation Jean-Pierre Perreault: transmitting our contemporary dance heritage.

The three-day Quebec-France conference on culture, Essor de la vie culturelle au 21e siècle : Politiques, interventions et initiatives aims to celebrate the many ways in which cultural life has flourished in Quebec and France in recent years. Talks and discussions will be focused on public policy in the arts and culture, and initiatives promoting culture and civil rights.

Lise Gagnon and Nicole Turcotte will present the FJPP’s role in transmitting our contemporary dance heritage, notably through participatory and educational activities related to the art of choreography. They will invite participants to reflect on the issues related to two FJPP initiatives: the workshop Danser Joe dans la ville and the educational discovery guide in the virtual exhibition Jean-Pierre Perreault, Choreographer.
