Espace Perreault Get-Togethers are 5 à 7 events that offer a warm, relaxed atmosphere to meet dance artists, ask them questions, and find out what drives them. Every 5 à 7 event is dedicated to a specific, shared challenge that is central to the creative process.
Dance and migration
On April 6, at 5:30 p.m., at the MAI
Multidisciplinary artist Kama La Mackerel and dancers and choreographers Nasim Lootij and Heather Mah will consider the question of migration with respect to creation.
What is the meeting point between creation and migration on their unique paths?
How has migration disrupted their lives and their practices?
Are there connections between migration, memory, and their creative
process? If so, what are they?
And is the issue of migration part of their identity as an artist?
With Kama La Mackerel, Nasim Lootij, and Heather Mah
Moderator: Ingrid Vallus
At the MAI | Montréal, arts interculturels café-bar, April 6 from 5:30 p.m. to 7

The return of movement: singular dance artists
On March 2, at 5:30 p.m., at the MAI, we will hold the first evening of the Espace Perreault Get-Togethers series.
Dancers Lael Stellick, Karla Étienne and Anne Thériault will join us to talk about the experience of taking over roles that were originally danced by others, sometimes even by the choreographers who created the pieces.
How much of their individuality went into the re-creation?
How do the dancers transform previously written roles?
How did they experience the passage and transmission between the original piece and the recreation?
