Interview with Rasmus Ölme about his career and approach to teaching contemporary dance in an international context.
The Swedish dancer and teacher Rasmus Ölme tells us about the importance of staying open to what dance can be. Coming from an education that values versatility in dancers, he advocates thinking about the specifics of training. Given the immense possibilities that different techniques offer, he encourages his students to make their own dance and find their transferrable skills. Rasmus Ölme likes to remind students that technique is also dance; he argues that simply saying that changes everything, both in space and in movement.
