Hodan Youssouf

Multidisciplinary artist, anti-oppression consultant in the artistic community, coach in LSQ

Born in Djibouti and Deaf from birth, Hodan Youssouf grew up between France and Canada after obtaining refugee status with her family. Living with Waardenburg syndrome, she brings a strong and distinctive presence to the stage. Rooted in Montreal’s Black Deaf community, she is both an artist and an anti-oppression consultant, advocating for greater inclusion of Deaf and racialized artists. Quadrilingual (LSQ, ASL, French, and English), she has participated in numerous theatre, film, and dance productions, including Those Roots Within. In 2025, she received a Canada Council for the Arts grant to create her first original work.
