FAIRE CORPS with Manon Oligny

Date
January 24, 2024
Production
Mandala Sitù Danse and Espace Perreault

Manon Oligny founded the company Manon fait de la danse in 1992. For over 30 years, her creations have explored the feminine in high heels, wigs, panties, sheer dresses and knee pads. Pierre Lapointe entrusted her with the choreographic creation of his music videos “Deux par deux rassemblés” and “Tatouage”, and the École de technologie supérieure asked her to make robots dance.

Speaking to Marie-Gabrielle Ménard, the woman who questions convention in pink and black talks about her collaborations with authors Christine Angot, Nelly Arcan and Martine Delvaux. She talks about her love of New Wave cinema and hunting scenes. For years, busy behind the bar at Quat’Sous, she discreetly collected informal directing lessons from Pierre Bernard, Wajdi Mouawad, Serge Denoncourt and Claude Poissant.
