Soleil Launière
Ilnu transdisciplinary artist from Mashteuiatsh, director, and performance art teacher
Originally from Mashteuiatsh, an Ilnu community, Soleil Launière is a transdisciplinary artist who combines singing, movement, theater, installation, and performance. Since 2008, she has created and directed several major stage works, including Umanishish, Meshtitau, Akuteu, Aianishkat, Tupqan, and Pakuneu. Her first album, Taueu (2023), earned her the title of Radio-Canada Revelation 2024-2025 and victory at Francouvertes 2024. Inspired by myths, the spirit of animals, and her dual Ilnu and Quebecois culture, she creates passages between the visible and the invisible, between memory, identity, and sensitive territories.
